We just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and all of the staff at Red Lion for helping make our wedding day on 4th June the best day of our lives.
We booked our wedding three years ago, and we were really concerned when we heard in the meantime that the Red Lion had been taken over. However, as soon as we came to visit and met with Lindsay, our concerns went out of the window. She is absolutely lovely, ridiculously organised, super-efficient, she was so responsive to every e-mail and she went above and beyond at every opportunity. The day would not have been the same without Lindsay and we are so thankful that she was brought on in time for our wedding!
Lindsay accommodated so many requests, queries and last minute changes without ever making us feel like we were a nuisance – she is incredible. She also liaised with all our vendors and made sure there was absolutely nothing for us to worry about on the day – thanks to her, it went so seamlessly. In the run up to the wedding, every single member of staff at the Red Lion made us feel so welcome and excited for our day – they are all such assets to your pub and they helped make the day so incredibly special.
Everyone commented too on how incredible the food was, it was absolutely amazing – again, Lindsay and the chefs were so accommodating of our requests and never made us feel like we were asking for too much or being a nuisance. There are so many little things I could call out that the staff did that we were so impressed with, but I will limit it to a few:
- My dad mentioned to the waiter at breakfast how much he enjoyed the brownies that were our wedding breakfast dessert – next thing we knew, the head chef sent some brownies home with him.
- Chris (the groom!) mentioned on one of our visits what beer was his favourite – the lovely man who was behind the bar in the evening reception made sure that it was on in the main room during our wedding.
We can’t thank you and your lovely staff enough and we can’t wait to come back and visit frequently – the Red Lion is our absolute favourite pub in the world.

On behalf of myself and Joby, we would just like to thank you so much for making our wedding day so special!! You and your team are absolutely amazing!! You go above and beyond giving such attention to detail! All of our guests said they had never been to a wedding as relaxed and loving as ours and we believe the love and care for our day from you and your team really created that atmosphere!
Everyone was blown away by the food!! Every single person said they were amazing by how outstanding ever dish was and how everyone was served at the same time. My friends mum who had eaten in restaurants all over the world said it was “the best fish pie I’ve ever, ever had!!!” The children were made to feel welcome and free to play, giving their parents a break! The whole day was just faultless!! Everyone could not do enough for us.
We had the most special dream wedding day that we all will be talking about for years to come!! From the bottom of our hearts .. Thank you!!
